I have a question

Hey everyone. I am new here, and I must say that I love the board. I must admit that it was the board titled "Christianity" that perked my interest, me being a Christian and all. But that has very little to do with what I am going to ask (though it really does have a part in every single area of my life).

Basically, I am going to make my first forum and I am lost as all get out! I am planning on making it a High School RP, though I am hoping to make one that isn't stereotypical and normal, but I still want it appealing. Basically I don't know where to start. I have done very little HTML coding, though I have a natural affinity for such things, and I have had even less experience with photo editing (I have GIMP by the way. PS is way too expensive for me).

Basically, I am looking for a little help. I don't want to make this sound like a request or demand because I know that you don't like those things and I really would like to learn this stuff. I am simply looking for someone who can give me ideas and spur some creativity.

I have been looking for skins or templates for a while, and have yet to find a satisfying one. Because of that, I am leaning toward making my own, though I do really like the look of Vanilla Cream by EMOcore, but I don't want to take it and cannibalize it for my own purposes.

If you are confused at what I am asking, join the club. I am confused as well. I just know that I have a lot of ideas, but no expertise in making them reality. And prompts in the right direction would be great! Maybe some ideas about what colors to use. I am going for a soft, unobtrusive, attractive, gentler look. Basically any help would be great.

Well HTML coding is not the problem as their are many proboard codes around made by coders that you may use for the forum, if you need any help...I am a designer and will help on one occasion....I need a detailed layout of what you want

See, the thing is that I can do everything, for the most part, but I don't have the artistic sense needed to create a truly aesthetic forum. I can work with the codes, and apply skins and the like, but I simply cannot make up my mind as to colors and such. Basically I do not know what I want, other than a soft, gentle look, but I am not so sure that I want to use colors that are as subdued as white or cream. More or less, I am looking for advise. Oh, and image editing. That is the other huge problem for me. No experience there. Thanks for your offer of help. I am sure that I will take you up on that sometime.

Well im not one that usually comes up with colours so sorry about that lol but i can help with graphics

Ah yes, graphics. That is a step that will be taken in the future. Once I get a board created and looking the way I want it. I will keep you in mind, though. Your help will be needed, I am sure of it. Graphics are so not my thing! =)

Ok, so I found some colors that I like. magnettriwiz.proboards55.com/ this is a skin by Nya and i found the colors very inviting.

Looks nice, the colours are kind of plain but yes a nice easy template, could use some additions

Definitely. I would add some other icons and the like. I also think that I will change a few of the colors, but that is where the problem comes up. I can't match anything and I don't know what would be good where.
