Also, at the same website, you can download Animation Shop for 30 days, too! It is pretty cooool!! M@, didn't they change the PSP9 from 60 days to 30 days? But, even if they did, it is still a great opportunity to check out PSP9 before purchasing! It is very cool that these companies do that! ~ Shan

I know this is kinda naughty but there are ways of turning the Trial Versions into full versions but finding a serial number on the internet. Its stealing I know but it saves people from spending fortunes on programmes like these. No matter how good they are.

Yep it is stealing, and it's is wrong to do it. I was tempted to use an illegal copy of Photoshop. I had it installed on my computer and everything. I asked God for a good graphics program, and I thought getting it was an answer to prayer, believe it or not, but it didn't feel right to me. I uninstalled it, and waited a month or so till i could affort to get a copy of PSP9.
Different people are gonna have different opinions about this, but I don't think that to say spending fortunes on good graphics programs "no matter how good they are" is a valid argument. PSP is only £100 (or less) which is amazingly cheap for what it does, and no doubt the Power of Photoshop is worth every penny too.
Perhaps I should move this thread to the cafe? it seems worth chatting about

I'm not offended Owen, hehe...so don't feel bad I don't want you to feel you can't speak your mind and stuff. For me it was a choice of either going my way and justifying that it was ok to use my dodgy copy of Photoshop, or wait for God to provide for me.

Yeah. I went through a very similar situation to that of Matt. I really wanted PSP and Photoshop. A friend of mine ordered a real cheep copy of PSP8 off of e-bay. When I got it, I knew for sure that it was a pirated copy. I was really tempted to still install it and everything. I prayed about it and prayed about it, and this was the same time Matt was going through his struggles with his Photoshop. And we both decided that God was telling us to do the right thing and not use these programs. Then for Christmas, I got PSP8. And it worked out well. Also, at the same time, my father-in-law offered me a copy of Photoshop that was pirated. I turned him down on that, too. I think that these programs are definately worth the money and the people who invest their time and energy in developing these programs definately deserve the money from them. I guess being a professional (my husband and I do magic shows for a living), I have even a bit of a different perspective. We have gone to parties where they are showing a taped version of our show to the kids before we do our live show. During the taped show, they are all bored and stuff. There nothing that beats a live performance! And even worse, we have not been hired back at gigs, because they just play the performance they taped from the previous year. So, not only are the kids bored, but husband and I are out of the money we would have gotten from this gig. It is kinda the same thing with software and stuff, I think. Yeah. I really think it is definately worth waiting for the right moment and time for the right software. I am glad I can use my PSP without feeling bad everytime I load it up.

One major problem with pirated copies of programs is that you can get the upgrades or patches for some of the problems that are found after the software is published. Also pirated copies have been known to have some real nasty stuff included in them that can really hurt your pc. I personally have no money but have found that my friends have all this software lasying around that they will never use again and are more than happy to pass on to me. Maybe some of you could put an add in your neighborhood weekly trader and ask if anyone has some of the programs you want. Also see if you can put a request in the church bulletin or bulletin board. Many of the programs also come free with new computer purchases and many people have no use for them. So the software is out there . . legal copies. . and people will be glad it on to you for little or no cost. I have also found cd's at the local thrift shops and used bookstores. Don't forget to check out the bargin bin for older versions of programs where ever software is sold. Most stores put big discounts on the version before the newest that they are selling and often it costs nothing to upgrade.

At the moment im 'living' off trials ive got a PSP 10 trial on at the moment and a book i got for christmas came with PSP 8 trial (i think) However i will be keeping an eye out for stuff. At the moment paint and gimp are good enough as i haven't been doing much image editing recently and i use paint for alot of my template work.

None of my friends make graphics and I'm just in ninth grade so don't have enough money. I can't wait until my birth day. May be a new version will come out when I could afford it. I'm living off trials, too. I never tried serial keys and everything and am never doing that. I'm not gonna support it.

My Dad bought me PSP8 when it was just out for Christmas awhile ago. Now, in a couple of months, I'm getting Photoshop CS-2 for meh birthday! =D At least, I'm pretty sure I am. I've heard that PS is the ultimate, so yeah, I think that's what I want. *shruggles* If it isn't the best, I still have PSP8 to spiff up the images a bit. XD

hey, I know the feeling of people that are all living of trials. I am too at the moment. But I should be getting a saturday job soon so then I can start to save up.. I personally have tried photoshop but I think that photoshop elements is better. It may just be me though. =] But I know that I am saving up for photoshop elements instead of photoshop. As Im really used to it now as i have used the 5.0 version on trial and now using the 6.0 version which is good as well.

You sure, though? There's not much you can do in Elements because almost no one makes brushes for it, nor you can do animations in it...
