11th November...two minutes silence at 11am for our soldiers who died in the two World Wars...poppy wreaths on war memorials, everyone wears those little plastic poppies for a weeek beforehand...ring any bells? no? gosh i'm shocked!

It rings a bell here, Gwen.  I don't think they recognize Remembrance Day in the US, but celebrate Veteran's Day instead. (if I'm remembering correctly. ). And it is sad and beautiful art there, Gwen. |
