Has anyone here read the Left Behind series (kids or adult version)? I am on # 37 of the kids series. I think the books are fantastic. They are very interesting. They talk about what is going to happen after the Rapture and the last 7 years. For people who think the Bible is confusing, these books really help you to understand because they are put in with a fictional story (with all the charcters and stuff that are part of a regular story). After I finish the kids version, I am going to start on teh adult version. ~SPOILERS~

I haven't read all of the adult version yet, but have read quite a few of them. I really enjoy them! I haven't read any of the kids ones, though. I'm curious for you to start reading the adult ones and then you can tell me which ones you like more. Do the kids ones have the characters of Buck and everyone? Or are they different characters in them?

I think the kids version has all of the adult characters in them, the story just doesn't focus on them. It tells all about what the kids are going through and stuff. The adult version doesn't have the kid characters in them though. My grandma is reading the adult version and we have compared the two. The two versions pretty much talk about the same things, only the adult version is centered on the adults, and the kids version is centered on the kids.

I have thought about reading them but no one I know owns them and they don't seem to show up at the used bookstores. I have heard a lot of criticism about them being too sensational. What are they really like? (Most people who issue public statements on books being evil have never bothered to read them.) I really love books and if they are that great, I will make more of an effort to find some.
-sidenote- The Holy Bible is on the banned book list along with Harry Potter and Uncle Ben's Cabin and several of the works of Shakespeare and most of Judy Bloom's books. Some people are just idiots!

What about a library? That is where I get mine. We even got some of the adult books at a garage sale.
Yes, I think that is wrong that people who say books like Harry Potter are evil and haven't even read them is wrong. I just created a thread in the general board talking about my views on that...
If you are able to find some of these books, I think you would like them. It is basically a story of how people react and what they do after all the dissapearances of the people who believed that Jesus died on the cross for their sins. The books talk about how many many people finally realize the truth....but when it is too late. They have to go through the Great Tribulation for the next 7 years until the return of Jesus.

I've read both series. lol... I was a loyal reader since they first came out in '99 and finished the kids last year or something like that. They were AWESOME!!! I can understand why some may call them too sensational but they're not. Some of what is in the books I don't believe to be true but they are still awesome! lol... Ashley, can you believe that Lionel got his arm cut off?! I would've never been able to cut mine off. lol...

No, I can't believe that Lionel actually cut his arm off. I definately would not have been able to do that! And poor Cheryl, they are trying to find her somewhere else to go. Could you imagine that, having to leave your little toddler, even though she did say that the Fogarty's could have him. That is about where I left off. I just finished the 36th book.

Who;s your favorite character and what are your thoughts on Nada and Judd and Vicki? Of course Vicki and Judd are *DESTINED* to be together. It's only practical. lol... But what do you think about Judd and Nada's relationship? Personally, I wish she didn't die and that she went to the States... and her bro too.

Hmm...My favorite character.... I don't really have one favorite character. But my favorite would be Judd, Lionel, Vikki, and Ryan. I'm not glad that Nada died, but I'm glad that she no longer can interfer with Judd and Vikki. I definately think Judd and Vikki should be a couple.

Hmm.... Yeah, I think that the only reason why I liked Nada and Judd's relationship was because it made Vicki mad. lol... Out of the original four... Hmm... I think mine would be Ryan first but since he died.... then Vicki... Cuz she's just plain out AWESOME! lol...

Yeah, I was sad when Ryan died. I couldn't imagine loosing anyone else of the original four. It's just one of those times where the whole group really adds to the story.

Yeah, I know. Hey, you remember in the beginning how they said that only one out of the four would survive? lol... What happened to that? I was counting on Vicki to be the winner... but all three end up living. lol...

Sweet. Unfortunatly, the library that we usually go to doesn't have 39 & 40, so we will find the time to go to a different one for those two books.

Yeah, that is too bad... Ashley, have you heard of I.L.L? It means Inter Library Loan. You should ask your librarian about it... if your library does have that option then you should ask about it, you know?
