Thank you, Ellie, for all the Macadamia goodies!! I have practically a chocolately and nutty macadamia banquet laid out before me, hehe I didn't know you could fit so many wonderful goodies in such a tiny package! ;D I've finished off the Milk Chocolate Macadamias already ;D and the onion and garlic, and honey roasted Macadamias, and i've tried a cookie too It's a really lovely gift. Thank you very much

You are more than welcome. It was a small thing compared to all the help you've been! Plus I just didn't feel it was right that you'd never had a macadamia nut before. lol ;D

Those garlic/onion ones were a bit strange right M@? Did she send you the shortbread cookies? Those were totally awesome! I had so many different things that it was hard to decide what to try first.
Ellie is a very good sister. I wish I was too.

You are a wonderful sister, GC. Yeah, i didn't want to open them at first, but as soon as i cracked open the Milk chocolate Macadamias, nearly everything else followed ;D, and i've been trying a bit of everything. I've been seriously missing out, Ellie ... I don't know if you can even get them over here. You probably can but I haven't seen them. i quite liked the onion and garlic ones, hehe, although they do have a very strong flavour. I didn't have shortbread, but i have have Chocolate chip cookies, that remind me of these biscuits my Gran used to bake called melting moments. They're pretty tasty ;D I really need to be going to bed now, but i just munched on half a Macadamia Kona coffee bar, and I'm all hypered up ;D

She sent me the choc chip ones too but the shortbread ones are far superior. I liked the garlic/onion ones after I ate some of them but prefer that flavoring on potato chips (I think you call them crisps) and I am glad that she sent you the coffee bar instead of to me because I hate the taste of coffee and always have. I did enjoy the toffee bar she sent me though.
Did she send you some red coconut balls? Those were pretty strange compared to most of the coconut candy I have enjoyed in the past. I quite liked them. But my most favorite thing has to be those heavenly shortbread cookies. YUM!

I'm so glad you both enjoyed your packages and it's good to know your preferences, I love any excuse to send boxes out. GC, next time I send you something I'll pack in some of the other flavors that those cookies come in. There is a guava flavor that I can't buy otherwise I eat the entire box in one sitting. lol Dangerous stuff that.

*quickly looks at box sitting nearby*
I really love the shortbread and doubt that anything else could compare but are the Coconut Krispies or Almond ones good? How about something pineappley for M@ next time? I loved the dryed sugared gingered pineapple that I used to could get at the health food store. Do they have dates and figs in HI Ellie?

I did a google search on melting moments cookies and I found a wide variety of recipes that seem to range from basic sugar cookies to cake like cookies to something known around here as Wedding cookies. So what exactly are you talking about Shan and M@? Some of the recipes I saw have raisins and others have chocolate chips and/or nuts. Some are rolled in powdered sugar. There are hundreds of recipes that I saw and all of them quite different.

hmmmm..... it has been quite a few years since I made them. I think the ones I made were similarish to creamed shortbread cookies that they melted in your mouth like them, but had a bit of a different flavour. I don't remember which cookbook I used to make them! hehe Yeah. It has been ages since I made them and stuff.... I'll ask my mom tomorrow if she has ever made them and ask if she knows the recipe.

I didn't get any red coconut balls unfortunately ;D. I've nearly finished everything already though. i have half a coffee bar, some Tapa Toffee, most of the cookies, and a Macadamia crips milk chocolate bar left. It was all i ate yesterday ;D
I don't know how my Gran made her melting moments, but they were like the Macadamia cookies, but lighter and more melty ;D
