problem mixing black & white backgrounds & text

Heyas,

I'm trying to make a very simple black and white theme using the settings below. I've almost achieved what I'm after, except at the top of the page: the text "Message Board <<Home>>" and "Hey, (member), you have x messages, x are new" with text for date and time appearing below it. I have selected black text overall because I want a white background for the post windows. But with the overall black background that text at the top becomes indistinguishable.

The same problem applies to the text for the Google search feature at the bottom of the page, i.e., where the user can select either the Web or the forum.

I need to isolate that text at the top and bottom of the page and make it white. Is there a way to do that?

In the screenshot above I highlighted the area I'm talking about with the cursor. I need for that to show up in white text.

Okay, I worked this out for the most part with the following codes:

Check PMs in Info Center

and

I use this code (in the headers) to center the banner, remove the welcome message, and <home>, in the logo table.

However the navigation text that sits right above the post window (left side) remains black-on-black and therefore invisible. How can I make this navigation text appear?

Hey, your link colour is the same as your text colour 'Link Color: 000000' Change it to Link Color: FFFFFF' and they will become white.

Thanks, although white will not work on the white background. I could use another color I guess. I was trying to keep it all black and white if I could.
