On the way in to work this morning, my dad called me on my cell. Given the early hour, I knew something was wrong...and I was correct.
Last night, one of my dad's closest friends died. He didn't say how, but knowing the man as I did (he was a friend of mine as well), I'm guessing it was a heart attack.
My dad's pretty much in shock right now, and is trying to figure out if he's going to fly back to town, or not (he's currently in Florida to avoid the Illinois winter).
This friend, Larry, leaves behind a wife, kids, and grandchildren. I'd like to ask that prayers be said for them, as well as for my dad. They can use all the support they can get right now.
Thank you.
Rich

I count it an honor to pray for your father and for those who were left behind.

I'll be praying for your dad, you and this family, too, Rich. I know how hard it is.

Thank you, both. I'm picking up my dad tomorrow evening at O'Hare...the wake is set for Friday evening, and the funeral for Saturday. Regrettably, I'll only be able to make the wake.
