how to make countdown tickers

I want to create my own countdowns and put them in my own website for pets only. Like countdowns to adoptions, to new homes etc, with different pets, breeds etc.

I wanted to know what program they would use to make the ticker countdowns like the tickerfactory has.

This would be a code request. Which we are not taking at the moment. Altho... I could make a Javascript countdown it would not be placed into an image would this be ok?
