Repost from CFoT.
I'd like to ask for some prayers for a guy that I work with: Perry. He's been having some financial difficulties lately, partially due to his ex-wife, and now his girlfriend of many years has decided to leave him...so, he can no longer afford to stay where he's currently living, and it's not easy to live on your own on his salary in this area.
I spoke with him for sometime yesterday, and I'm worried about him. He's thinking about suicide, and even has the method already picked out. I spoke confidentially with his boss yesterday to see if his company offers some kind of Employee Assistance Program (counseling, etc...), and he's checking in to it.
Perry's a great guy, but because he's got limited skills, he's having difficulties seeing things beyond his immediate troubles. So, please, pray for him and his situation.
Thanks.
- Rich

Rich, I have known several people who did commit suicide. If you are still worried, ask the police to do a safety check on your friend. Tell them why you are concerned and they may take him to a hospital to be evaluated. It is better for him to be mad at you for a few days than for you to have to attend a funeral.
I will pray and I sincerely believe in the power of prayer but if this Perry is not listening to God, any little thing might set him off and the results could be fatal.

Thank you. Right now he has all my contact numbers, and I told him to call me anytime, for anything. I've also lost friends due to suicide: the first one was in high school...one of my best friends, and his girlfriend (which none of us knew he had), killed themselves together. I hadn't thought about calling the police for a check-up...I'll definately keep that in mind. Thanks again.

Will be praying for Perry. Also for you as well, for this is a heavy burden upon you.
