Gimp :(

Has anyone had trouble downloading Gimp?

I have tried like 6 times to download the program and the GtX or whatever it is. And it keeps saying Corrupt Zip file.

I have tried downloading both programs each 6 times so a total of 12 times and everyone does it. So does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

yeah, it's happening to me also, I downloaded few times, but it never worked

I heard it was easy to use so I decided to give it a try but I guess I wont. Its sad because I have seen what Hamster can do with his and a friend of mine uses it to. She said it was really easy.

Maybe I am doing something wrong perhaps.

Ok wait a mo ill look into it i totally missed this thread sorry, hopefully i can see whats not working soon ill try and give you some links to mirrors in the USA, i got mine from a UK mirror cos im British give me a few minutes

Well thats kinda the problem I can download the Zip files I just cant open them.

after I download it and when I click on the icon on my desktop, it opens for half second and it disappers

You have to open the runtime file first. Are ya'll doing that?

Well I dont think his and mine are the same.

I cant Unzip it to instal it.

which runtime file?

Let me see if I can figure that out for you. You have to download two seperate files though because one is a runtime file that GIMP needs in order to work.

Hey Hamster they have a plug in registery with lots of brushes and stuff. registry.gimp.org/index.jsp

Download The GIMP and GTK+ installers for Windows @ sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-win

I downloaded that and it asked me the language, then I chose the default language, pressed "ok" and then I clicked on GIMP, but it still didn't work

it just says Choose a language and then I choose the language press "ok" and nothing happens

Er sorry yesh thats weird i used the GTK for both Gimp & Inkscape and it worked fine on both

Anyone ever have problems gettiing it to run ?

I have been trying to get it to start for a couple days now but it keep (Not Responding) on me befor it loads and normally when it reaches the Fonts....


I was going to try the Pixelize Tut but guess I wont.....
