1 take a screenshot (PrtSc SysRq) of some post reply icons 2.select the Selection tool and copy (Ctrl+C) the top row and Paste (Ctrl+P) 3. then Select the other row and copy (Ctrl+C) and paste as a new layer (Ctrl+L) over the top. 4. you now have something like this. 5. create a new Raster layer and set the blend mode to color 6.choose your colour and using the paint bucket tool flood fill the color layer 7.for both rows merge all and copy and paste 8. then select all the buttons separately and save them and you've finished.
there's a lot more you could do to make your icons look super spiffy, so just have a play around and see what you can come up with. for example , backtrack to stage 4. at this point I would colorpick the back ground color and fil in all the outlines of the buttons until I had something like this. i don't like the black very much so i tone it down a little with a nice green grey, again using the paintbucket(floodfill) tool, and then (returning to steps 5 and 6) i create a coloured layer using the same grey-green. I then crop the layers by one pixel on all sides and do the same as in steps 7 and 8 then I flood fill both images with a gradient and 'add borders'. Returning to step 8, i select each of the buttons and save them. all done. M@

Press the PrtSc SysRq button (it's to the right of F12), and then you need to paste it into a graphics program
