Animated Banner (UnFREEz & MERGE)

first off I made a mini banner in paint and saved two versions of it.





I then opened up MERGE and opened up both images in a source window. both images are then displayed as merged in the destination window.



I then went to Edit > Merge, and leaving the Merge Method set at Averages Pixel 1, 2 I adjusted the BIAS and pressed Done.



I then saved the image. I repeated the proccess until I ended up with these 8 images.

















I then needed to crop all 8 images and save them as gifs. i did this in my trial version of elements 3, but you can do this in any number of freeware programs.

I then opened up UnFREEz, and drag and dropped all the images into the frames window.



I left the Loop option ticked, set the frame delay and pressed 'Make animated gif' and saved it.

I made 4 versions of the. the 1st set at 0, the 2nd 10, the 3rd 20, and the 4th at 30.









the banner was a request at Overcomers Sci-fi and fantasy board.

Thannk you! I have a questionabout this though. Is there a way to make animated gradients with these programs?

going by what you've said in other posts I think I know what you mean. By gradient do you mean the images used for the title and Category bars on Proboards?

That's not what they are called? But yes, that's what I was talking about...... so.... what are they called then?

Well Officially they are called either Title or Category images. the ones that we have at this board for instance are not really gradients. they are just one colour with a single light line across the top to give them a buttonized effect.

Anyway to answer your original question, yes it is possible to anmate them, but kind of tricky to pull off so that it looks good throughout the board

Hmm..... so it is pretty much best to stick with unanimated title/catagory bars unless you're reall good at the animation thing.... that is neat....

its not working again and ive just deleted PSP ahhh i would like ot use this to make an animated banner easily so please get it working soon no rush
