Good job on first one. I personally didn't find it as good as 2nd as it is not blended, no flow, and yes, bad text =P No one's perfect at text, so no problem

Second one is great. The light source is great. The multi-coloring looks very original on left side. The only thing that doesn't look good is text. It almost kills the sig lol. Dun worry, mine does that too =P
The font could've been maybe more defaultish? or Straight instaead of rotated? Try Arial maybe and use clipping mask on it? =D

Lol @ borders. If you are adding border on 2nd one, just make what I call "Movie Style" border where you make selection about 5px long horizontally and fill with black at top and do same for bottom It'll look goooooooooood
