Here you can post your images made with GIMP  i decided to do this cos.......i dont know why but i felt like it but ill post my images here.  its not the best of images however it just proves what you can do with layers and grads in GIMP so all my Gimp users out there dont give up keep on trying and maybe one day, just maybe we will be able to make stuff as good as those with PSP and PS EDIT: ive just made this animated one in GIMP i think its cool what do yuo think?  |

Thanks guys i think its a wave animation (and i know) that is already built into Gimp. Spirited away is the best anime ever it is so cool ive watched it 3 times in the past 4 days....well i have been ill the second one really touches me as ive watched the film and its quite sad at that part as the area they are going through is desolte my type of land. So i decided to make a sig for it hence that animated sig . |

Lostsoul, do you find GIMP easy to use?
I have been using PSP7 for a while now (Jasc was selling it for practically nothing on Ebay and I can't afford 9 or X right now), but my husband just installed GIMP on my computer. Just curious how user friendly you think it is?
Hopefully I'll get around to exploring it sometime today...

ok to be truthful it is not the easiest of packages to use. It has multiple windows and its quite hard to navigate. However dont let this deter you if you work hard and just have a look around you will eventually get used to it. im still getting used to it now but i will get better one day. |

I did open it up last night and have a look at it. The multiple windows threw me off a bit, but it looks VERY interesting!
Have you found any tutorials for it yet? I think that would help a lot to acquaint me with the program. I'll have to have a look around the 'net and see what turns up...
I look forward to seeing more of your GIMP-made graphics!

Thanks Lash i have made one tutorial but im goin to find some other ones and then im goin to try and make some of my own : and im going to look forward to seeing your Gimp images EDIT: heres some of the Original Gimp tutorials that are based on more basic parts of it however there are some really complicated ones to: GIMP tutorials |

yeh sorry bout that its part of my template and because im not going to be in school i cant work on it so i thought i should post it some where and then copy it to carry on with it . However my lunch break had just ended and i had to go and post that before a)I got chucked out and b)The librarian saw that i was on the internet. This meant i didn't have enough time to log on or start a new thread so i wouldn't mind if one of the Admin could move it to my template board? Thanks Mike yeh that silver bar thing is somethink similar to the windows silver theme and im going to use it in my new template avaiable in the New Year ;D so there you go theres the story of the ignore title |

Back to Gimp i made this in Gimp:  oh and heres the animation:  its a banner for a forum but i hvant a clue what font of text i should add  its going to say Clouds Forever but i dont know what type of text to add. any ideas would be welcome. Also does any one think the text should be part of the animation or seperate? |

Hmm... Well, both banners look awesome but one suggestion. Does GIMP have the repeat option when you animate. Because if you use repeat the banner wouldn't have those black lines around the edges when the banner moves. I'm not sure what text you should use but yeah, they're both awesome.

thanks guys i mite not opt for the animated version anyway as alot of the detail is lost and it looks grainy. I think there is a repeat option but i cant be bothered as im going to stick with the nonanimated version. mmmm but i still need to find a good font. this might not be the final banner as Clouds Forever is going to be a very long projec and i dont know how long its going to take but i will finish it, at the moment im making the actual website aswell as the forum from scratch using html any ideas or helpers would be useful but i still dont know what Cf is about yet |

It's kinda hard to give you useful comments if we don't know what the site is about yet. That is a big factor in choosing a font I think.

youve got a good point there i woudl choose for it to be about graphics yet there are too many wbesite s for that so i think i might base it on....gaming like the new game ive got: Earth 2160 and 1 of the new gamnes im hoping to get for christmas: Age of Empires 3 and Empire Earth 2 i dunno ill think about it.
