The colours are good. The text colour needs to be lighter though, as some people would have trouble reading it because of their monitors. If I'm making a light template i'll go for a dark text and if it has a dark windowbg i'd choose a light coloured text.

it's just a couple of extra images in the header and footers that match up with the background. If you download the template (Golden dreams) it will be easier to see how it's done

Guardian, you can make a template in Paint, PSP9 and I'm positive other programs. Those are just the two that I am familar with. I use Paint for the most part because I am most comfortable using that program. But you can try either or. What I did was downloaded one of the templates here so I'll know what folders I need and what images I needed. And I looked over the images so that I could get a basic idea of how to make them and so on and so forth. It's fairly easy, just long and strenuous. lol...

Also, M@ has done a couple of tutorials that may help you out. Here is one to help with choosing forum colours. And Here is one in how to make the folder icons. And Michael is right. The way I learned too was by looking at other peoples templates. That is the best way to learn. And to be patient and be willing to put in a lot of hours Especially when it is a proboard template with alllll those images!!

Dark or light colored text doesn't make much difference as long as there is plenty of contrast. Mahud is right in saying that many people wouldn't be able to read it. I for one wouldn't even try because I know that my eyes are getting bad and I don't like to unduly place more strain on them. A navy text or a cream colored one would I think, make that board much more readable. Monotones work well in clothing and graphics but are a bugger to read.

You need to use css to add the grads/images. they go at the top in the headers <style> .menubg { background-image: url(); background-repeat: repeat; } .newstitlebg { background-image: url(); background-repeat: repeat; } .catbg { background-image: url(); background-repeat: repeat; } .titlebg { background-image: url(); background-repeat: repeat; } </style>

Errr i cant view it is there something wrong with it? I can see the background the menu infact i can see everything but the actual threads/boards etc. It usually happens when i get a code wrong or if two codes conflict.
