HERE is about 30 minutes south of Great America. Small world. I am new to message boards, forums, etc... what is a good standard size for a signature? 100 X 400? How about JPG or GIF does that matter? I do all my drawing in COREL, I am not a PHOTOSHOP guy. See you around. Your Brother Mike

Cool! Southern Lake / Northern Cook County then...we're practically neighbors. LOL And, yes, 400x100 is a very good size for a sig. As for the file type, it depends on what you're going for...I think THIS THREAD should help answer most of your questions regarding those. Don't worry about not being a Photoshop user...I'm in the minority on this board, in that regards. PS Users Rule! PSP Users drool.

Hi Mike Welcome to ocgfx! Yeah. LHW's right about one thing. Most of us don't use Photoshop. I use PSP and so does M@hu. But, PSP is pretty cool in my opinion And there are people here who even use like free download graphic programs and stuff. And we have members who don't necessarily make a lot of graphics, but just enjoy seeing them. So, I really hope you find your place and have a look around! I'm looking forward to seeing ya! HEY M@hu_D, are custom avatars, homepages, and other stuff in my profile a privelege I earn? I can't seem to adjust certain things. You should be able to add a avatar and everything on your profile. There is a spot in your profile to put your url for your avatar and you can add images in your signature, too. If you need any help with that, just let us know. Hope it works for you! ~ Shan

Shan Great to hear from you. I am enjoying your board. It is very unique. In the USER CP i am having no luck whatsoever. I fill out all the info and select modify profile at the end and it just sends me back to the begining? To top it off your board thinks I am 6 years older than God made me. I can't change that either? I'll keep plugging away and eventually get around to posting something. A little about me. My genre is cartoons and most recently gif animation. I draw only with a mouse using COREL (any other COREL folks out there? can I get a what, what?) And though I don't know HTML and don't pretend to be a webmaster a month ago I propped up a website. ( www.sidestream.tv ) If there are any SMART webmaster type out there I have a few questions and could use a hand debugging a thing or 2. I'll start posting soon and asking for help where I need it. Thanks for the welcome.

That's a great site you've got there mike! I love the cartoons. Before I started messing around with computers and got into making graphics, I used to draw some comic strips. It was a lot different to the stuff you do, but I've wanted for a while to somehow work out a way to make my characters in a graphics program The Navy comic strips made me laugh and i like the idea of having wordless cartoons with just bible verses. that's a great Idea, and I bet people will be intrigued enough to look up the verses too, so they totally get the cartoon

I am glad you appreciate the concept of the fishtoons. If your ever serious about your cartoons I'd be glad to impart some of my lessons learned. In a nut shell you need to create your characters in a vector program, so the individual elements (hand, arms, feet, fins) are able to be ungrouped and manipulated. Essential then you have a poseable character, that you do not need to redraw, as much as you do repose. Just some food for thought. Thanks again for the feed back. see you when I see you.

Hi there, Karl! Welcome to ocgfx! I've been to Durham before and love it there! It is so beautiful!! If I could move anywhere in the world other than where I live now, it would be in the north east part of England. That is where my family is originally from. I still have relatives who live up there, too. I hope to see some of your stuff and look forward to seeing you develop as a graphic artist.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking for a few days and figured it was time for me to come out of hiding. Awesome site, I love that there is a combined love of Christianity and graphics. I have been using PSP for about a year (still not very good at it), and I'm hoping to learn from you all and improve my skills.

Hi Shan, thanks for the welcome. I've been looking at all of the great stuff that you all have been making and I am in awe! I guess I better start making more time in my day for PSP... I don't want to be a novice forever!
