Hi. My name is Ashley.

I am starting to learn how to make graphics with GIMP. I have been making lots of glitternames and sigs with glitter borders. lol. I'm a Chirstian, I love to read (especially the Harry Potter series, I read them for the way JK writes....the plot...the characters.....not nessessarily the magic), scrapbook, manage PB forums, be a member of PB forums, IM friends, and spend time with friends and family.

Hi Ashley! Welcome to ocgfx I also like the Harry Potter books for the same reason as you. And I spend most of my time chatting with friends on MSN (especially one friend in paticular. hehe) and am totally loving graphics! Looking forward to getting to know you better

Hi Ashley,

I like glitter too but I don't know how to make it and since I gave away all my graphics programs I figured that I will be trying to learn how to use the Gimp. Maybe you could write some tuts for us as Ellie, the Hamster, Micheal and I all need to learn the program. If you have a handle on it, we would love to learn from you. The Hamster has a board where we have set up a forum just for GIMP tuts but I believe that it is still basically empty. Do you have tuts at your own board?

The only things that I know how to make are glitternames and sigs with a border of glitter around them. lol. I have searched for tuts myself and have found a few on how to make cool sigs. I'm probably pretty much in the same boat as you guys.

Hi ya, Ashley and welcome to the forum. I've never really been to keen on glitter, but it's starting to grow (or should the be glow ;D) on me, largely due to Ellie's cool glittery graphics, hehe. I think I'm going to learn how to make the gliter effect myself and see what i can come up with ;D

Well, I just joined a couple days ago and forgot to introduce myself in the correct place, so here goes:
I am Gipsy from Canada (eh!) I have been dabbling for many years in gfx, but just had a renewed interest maybe a couple months ago. I have lots of fun with it, although I have lots to learn.
I am also a Christian and so is my DH. I'm also a mummy of one.
Right now, I'm just trying to get through to long, cold winter and I LOVE overcomesgfx, because everyone is so friendly.

Looking forward to getting to know you all more.

Welcome to Overcomers! I hope that you do play the games with us and even start a few new ones yourself. I can promise you that we don't bite so there is no need to be shy here but do watch out for LHW. He likes to try and confuse people but he is a really nice guy anyway and will be sure to help whenever he can. LOL

We have a large variety of posters who come to this board from everywhere and for different reasons. This board is well modded by Shanny and M@hu_d who do their best to make it a safe and happy place for us. I am so glad that you joined.

Welcome, Clare! I'm so glad you joined. Yeah. A lot of us are new to graphics and really try and help one another. We do have a board that has a bunch of links to tutorials or tutorials that we have written. You may want to check that out.

And whenever you can make it here, that is just fine. I look forward to getting to know you better. And don't worry about your shyness. I am quite a shy person, too, but the people on the board really are caring and friendly. I'm sure you'll fit in quite quickly.
