I have a friend who lives in the same building that I live in. She lives on the second floor while I live on the third floor. However I rarely see her unless the paramedics are called to my apartment. Then she comes up and gets in everyone's way and annoys the poop out of me by trying to answer questions for me when she doesn't even know the answers. It confuses the paramedics who are getting conflicting info because Terri tends to just make things up or try to remember what I said the last time she was around. So even though I love her, sometimes I don't particularly like her.
Both she and her husband are currently having pc problems. Her husband is a big blow hard who is loud, crude and terribly uncouth. I really don't like being around him at all. He is also a know it all who knows nothing. I try asking him questions about his pc and the answers are totally wacky. His HD is 512ghz for example. (I checked and it is 10G.) He doesn't talk. He yells. He wants help but he won't listen. He won't shut up either. He knows that his pc is full of spyware so he keeps downloading all sorts of trial programs and then uses them until they expire. He refuses to uninstall them after they are no longer working because he thinks that they are still protecting him.
So they want me to help get their pcs running right but they won't bring their pcs up to my apt. They want me to go down their. Russ smokes these horrid cheap cigarettes and cigars. Their apartment stinks and Russ stinks. I can't breathe in their apartment and as careless as Russ is, I am afraid that my onboard O2 tank is going to explode whenever I do go there. I have spent all morning downloading free programs to help clean up both of their pcs and burning the programs to cd's. Terri just sent me an email saying that she doesn't want to come get the cds and that I should bring them down and fix both of their computers because she knows that I have nothing better to do today and they have all these plans for themselves. I said no because I do have plans for myself and for reformatting my pc. She sent back a reply saying that I am a terrible friend and that she doesn't want anything more to do with me AFTER I fix their pcs. So I sent back another email telling her to call me. She sent one back saying that she is mad at me for being so selfish and that I should be glad that she was willing to give me the keys to her apartment so that I wouldn't just sit here all alone today with nothing to do but look at my walls.
I have a couple more things I want to download for other people and then I am off to reformat. I have friends coming at 1:30 pm to give me a private concert on flute, violins, and cellos. They all are a part of one family that has 10 kids and I watched them grow up and have kids of their own. There will be at least 16 musicians and I have no idea how many support people that come along. I hope that they bring lots of food!
I hope to be back online later today and I want to hear what you guys think about this deal with Terri and Russ. What do I really owe them and how awful a friend am I?
Merry Christmas y'all. I miss our pink princess Ellie and hope she is back soon.

Personally, I would tell them that if that wanted me to help them then they have to do something in order for me to help them. For instance, bringing the cps up to my apartment. And as far as giving me the keys to the apartment, its rather useless because I wouldn't be going down there. It's far too much trouble for me to go down there than it is for them to come to me. They seem to be very inconsiderate so maybe I'd tell them that they're lucky I'm even helping them and going through all the trouble to help them. Russ seems to be a little careless and irresponsible with his computer so maybe tell him to let you show him what to do so that next time when the problem arises he can do it himself. When he starts screaming tell him he either listens or he can have a bunch of crap as a computer. But yeah, that's how I would be. lol... So you might not want take any thing from me on this. But you are an awesome friend... a lot more than what I would be. I'd just be like forget it. I'm not wasting my time over them. But yeah, that's me for you. lol...

They're the one's who have the problem, but your neighbour makes it sound like they are doing you a favour ?!? lol
I don't know what I'd do. I'd want to tell them to get lost, actually. But i'd proably end up doing everything they wanted.
The concert sounds really awesome!

Well, I'm going to refrain from giving any advice because I have no backbone with pushy people, especially those who try to guilt me (it generally works), but I'm sure you ARE a good friend to them and you don't owe them anything beyond your friendship. How was the concert? Yay! Someone missed me! (I missed you all, too!)

Well I didn't have time to think much about Terri and Russ yesterday as it turned out. Between the phone calls, the concert, and the Christmas carolers that came later, I was quite busy. So many of my friends have moved away and I really miss them too much but most of them called yesterday which was totally unexpected.
The concert was awesome! Tessie is first chair and orchestra mistress (whatever that means) with the Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonic Orchestra here. All of her kids have inherited her musical genes. She does still have 2 kids at home so when they went to youth group for a party in the evening those kids told the rest of the group how much fun they had coming here to play so instead of the party they had planned for themselves, they called moms and dads to come bring them here. They brought their party food and my neighbors got to partake of special treats. It was really special to see some of the old folks sitting with tears running down their faces and asking these kids to call them Grandma or Grandpa. Some of the kids cried too and when I say kids I actually mean teenagers.
All in all my dreaded Christmas turned out to be the best one of my life. I just wonder how much you guys had to do with that. Thank you so much for your prayers.
I hope that you all had great Christmases.

Hi Matt. I had a wonderful Christmas, thanks. Sounds like you had a pretty nice Christmas, too. BTW, who is Dr. Who? lol I read that other thread, but I still have no idea. Bethany, I'm glad your Christmas turned out so well and that you were surrounded by people who were able to make it a great day for you. I was worried about you, but it looks like God and His helpers arrived when you needed them! I had a really nice Christmas, but I have never been so happy to be home. I wrote all about it in my blog if you're interested, so I'll spare you all the boring details here. Now if I can only make it through the New Year's Eve celebrations... lol

Dr Who is on PBS Ellie. It is a campy sci-fi show. Dr Who is supposed to be a guardian of Time . . . so says Deborah. There is guy who is supposed to a cat too but he looks perfectly human to me.

Bethany, you mentioned that it was on PBS. When does it come on? Michael check your local PBS listings. It comes on at different times in different places and is on one of our PBS stations but not on the others.

Praise God! He is so good I had a pretty good Christmas as well. Since we just recently moved back on our own again, it was like our first Christmas together, it felt like. We got some appliances (microwave and slow cooker) which normally I'd be rolling my eyes over hehe But, I was really happy to get them this time! Yeah. And I am going home in a couple of weeks to see my mom!! ;D I'm sooooo happy about that! I haven't been home in a couple of years and I can't wait to see my family!

I was trying to thing who the cat guy was then it occured to me. The guy that's a cat is from Red Dwarf, another sci-fi show that ran from the late 80's well into the 90's. For the most part the scripts were bad, and the special effects and monster costumes were terrible, and never enough money was invested into the show to improve things, so it's not suprizing it was axed. I'd stopped watching it by the mid 80's because It just didn't fastinate me in the same way as it did as a kid. Dr Who ran from 1964 till 1989 when it was axed. This year it made a come back, and was quite successful, and ....(it's snowing outside, hehe)...and a new series comes out in the spring. I saw a preview of the new series after the Christmas special, and it's going to have the Cybermen in it, and K9 (A intelligent talking robot dog) and one of the Dr's old companions, Sarah Jane Smith, which should be interesting
