'In a time where the islands were still forming, and evolution was doing it's job, a group of horse-like creatures swam across a small span of ocean from North America. Their instincts told them to swim across the water, though no one knows why, or even how they did it without being drowned and wiped out. But they landed on this island and began to evolve. They ended up evolving into the modern equine, despite that they were not in the same place as the other herds of their kind. They prospered, and lived as only wild horses could: free as a bird. They were never bothered by humans or anything of the sort, and to this day, they prosper and live their lives.
No human has ever found the island, and they never will.
But recently, ships have been passing the island closer and closer, but usually wrecking on the sharp rocks that span miles outwards from the island, and there are never survivors. Except for the equines. Equines have been washing up on shore, dead and alive, and are beginning to populate the island along with the Tharimoor horses. They are diluting the Tharimoor species. the species may be bred out of the island. Even now, there are few pure Tharimoor horses left.
But now, a new threat had arisen. Three triplets of the Tharimoor breed had grown up into fine young stags. One was Galileo, a bright and cheery young stag with a personality as brilliant as the island itself. More merciful than his brothers, he gives allowances freely and second chances often. He had still yet to mature to the king he could soon be. Another was Perseus, a kind but practical young stallion who has a short fuse, and an even shorter cooldown rate. Practical, and a near-genius, he was almost as mature as a full-grown stallion, maybe even more than the average horse. His mother was very proud. The last stallion was exceptionally small and weak by most standards. His name was Sirius, and he was not expected to live. But despite what the herd said, he survived. He started out a kind and thoughtfull horse, kinder than Galileo and Perseus combined. But then, he started to realize how the herd looked down on him.
They expected great thing out of Galileo and Perseus; but if Sirius had ever done something right, he didn't remember. The first one to be kicked out of the herd at two was Sirius; the other two were asked to stay awhile. He could not face the rejection that his father and the herd had placed upon him. He was almost happy to leave.
For most of a year, he mourned in private on the Bachelor's Inlet, mulling over these things. Until a darkness culminated in his heart. He began thinking dark thoughts, thoughts that his natural self never would have thought of.
Of course, by this time, Galileo and Perseus each had claimed their own respective land. Their father's herd was proud, but wary. They had no clue if Sirius was still out there or not, and if so, if he was out for blood.
In fact, Sirius was. Taking the malnourished and dark bits of the isle, he created a territory for himself. Gathering a few stallion as mercenaries, he attacked his father's herd, without knowing what he was doing. The herd was obliterated while he stood back and watched. All except for one filly from his childhood. Cordelia was spared, and ran off, never to be seen again. Or so all the isle thought.
But that is a story for a little bit later.
Sirius has plans for the island. Galileo is desperately trying to bring his brother's old personality back. Perseus wants nothing to do with this; he is tired of Galileo bringing him into crusades against Sirius. Deep down, Perseus just doesn't want either brother to get hurt, or worse, die. Nobody knows it, but Cordelia is residing secretly in Perseus' herd, and under his protection. He thinks that she is the only way to bring Sirius back.
Meanwhile, Sirius is training hard. He is toning his muscles and learning to fight from an old mercenary who stayed the winter. He is getting stronger.
Galileo has no love for his brother; he does not understand Sirius, and this is his major flaw as a king. He has no understanding, or empathy, or even sympathy for that matter. Will he gain these before Sirius goes insane? Or will he fall back on Perseus, as always, and suffer the consequences of his inadequacies?
Will you fight and kill for Galileo? Or will you crusade behind the broken Sirius? Or will you be a mediator with Perseus?'
