Sci-Fi / Fantasy board Intro and Guidelines

If you are reading this now, then you have just exposed yourself to the world of Sci-Fi & Fantasy. Unsure of what you've just stepped into? Read the following for a better understanding what you may encounter and experience in this board.

Sci-Fi:

• A literary or cinematic genre in which fantasy, typically based on speculative scientific discoveries or developments, environmental changes, space travel, or life on other planets, forms part of the plot or background.
  
• The use of the discovery or application of new scientific principles, such as time travel or psionics, or new technology, such as nanotechnology, faster-than-light travel or robots.
  
• Works of fiction that use scientific discoveries or advanced technology — either actual or imaginary — as part of their plot. Jules Verne and H. G. Wells were early writers of science fiction. More recent ones are Isaac Asimov and Ray Bradbury.
  

Fantasy:

• a supposition based on no solid foundation; visionary idea; illusion: dreams of Utopias and similar fantasies.
  
• a genre of art that uses magic and other supernatural forms as a primary element of plot, theme, or setting.
  
• imagination unrestricted by reality; Imagery that is more or less coherent, as in dreams and daydreams, yet unrestricted by reality.

• Remember that this is primarily a Christian forum and, although you may not be a Christian, if you participate in this part of the board, be sure that the image you present is at the very least acceptable. Try to be a role model, alright? ;] Keep in mind that there are visitors and we want them to stay. ^^ FOREVER ;D
  
• No flaming anyone in discussions and such. And if you have beef on someone... don't take it out on people, even in RPGs. Calm yourself and think, okay, buddy?
