I like the banner (and wish i could do stuff like that ;D), although I don't think that much to the gradient background. The boards look way to flat and i think they and the title and cat images would look better if you used a board colour rather than have the border invisible. It also needs some customized images.
btw the forum width code you are using isn't cross-browser, and also (i found this out the other week) neither is the code which centers the forum logo.
