I've had the idea to make these sigs for a while now, and yesterday I made a start on them. The Pieta by Giovanni Bellini The Crucifixion by Mathis Grunewald The Baptism of Christ by Piero Della Francesca Christ appearing to his disciples after the resurrection by William Blake

Those are absolutely wonderful, Matthew!! Everytime I look at them, I see something different. Great detail and very effective brush use there. I especially like the Crucifixition one. Probably because that is the one that I looked at the longest and has the neatest details in it. They are all very well done, but something about that one just stands out to me. Also, I love the them of them. ~ Shan

I did these almost 2 years ago now: At the time, I couldn't find a decent cross on the Internet, so I made the gold one from scratch. EDIT: BTW, Matt...the Crucifixion one is my fave. Good job.

They are all very well done, but something about that one just stands out to me. Thank you Shan . I like the Pieta one the most, although it has probably more to do with Giovanni's painting of Mary 'cradling' the body of her dead son, rather than my own brushwork. I prefer the colours in the Crucifixion. The advantage of working with masterpieces is that they already have a good palette of colours for you to pick from ;D. Niniane wrote: Thanks . I like William Blake too. I think his stuff is pretty awesome, and he was quite a character too ;D. I really like his illuminated manuscripts. to me they are kinda like comic books or graphic novels . i'm gonna continue with this theme, i think. So i'll be adding to this thread from time to time. Like you say, there is so much good Christian art out there. M@

Because of today being Good Friday, I decided to make a siggy of Jesus on the Cross. Matt, I know this is very similar to stuff you have created, but I hope you don't mind.... Also, I did use one of the grunge backgrounds that you created, too. So, again, I dedicate this siggy to Matt, because it is very inspired by him once again Thank you, Jesus for dying on the cross and saving me from my sin! I love you, Lord!!

Silver; i love the size of those banners, we're always so tempted to make 'em big, but the smallness of yours is really subtle, very cool!

A new Christian sig. been working on it for the past couple of hours. It started out as grunge background, and then i added the photo of the sunrise, and from there i just started playing with effects and stuff.

Started working on this one a couple of days ago, but i wasn't sure what to do with it. I like how the border came out on this one...it's kinda gothic looking i think.
