God isn't real

I believe and know that God is real because of the way he has transformed my life. I used to lie, steal and cheat, and i cared for no one but myself, and made a huge mess of my life because of the things I did. We all sin and mess up to whatever extent, but i was worse than most people. Jesus said "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.", and this verse applies to everyone, but also especially to people like me. I became a Christian 8 years ago, and back then for the first time in my life I started to develop a conscience, and the guilt over the things i had done really overwhelmed me, and over the years I have really struggled with the memories of who i used to be and the way I treated others. But over the past year or so God has set me free from this guilt. He has truly given me a fresh start, and I am not the person I once was. I now have a real desire to be good, and to be loving to others and I really want to continue to know God more and more, because in him are all good things. He has given me so much! I didn't transform myself. i didn't take away my own guilt. how could I? without God's help I would be in so much pain and lost. So for me, this is why I know he exists. And even though i face problems every day he is always there for me. i feel him living in my heart.

Sure He is, but you need to experience Him for yourself, and have a relationship with Him. Once you've known Him, you'll know He's real. In some ways, knowing God is a lot like knowing you love someone...until you experience love first hand, you can't possibly comprehend its depth. Nor can you prove to anyone else that you experienced it. When / If people are ready to enjoy a relationship with God, He'll make sure that they don't have a single doubt as to His existance, or in how much He loves them.

you know, i was like you for a while. but then i went to church and i changed. youth activities, camps, lessons and other things that brought me closer to God. a few weeks ago i even evangilized as a clown to little children as a clown in the southern tip of Mexico in a city called Oaxaca. i even lived in some homes of some of the natives and lived off their food. that brought me even closer to God. and all because i tried ONCE!try it. just try. it could change your life too!

Yeah. it is hard to know that God is real until you experience him in your own life.... but that doesn't change the fact that he is and is working. I know with all my heart that God is real and has done some amazing things in my life. When I was younger, my parents didn't believe in God. They lived their lives in not so good of a way. They partied all the time, my dad was very close to being an alcoholic. They just really had a lot of things wrong in their lives. My Grandma was a Christian and she prayed for my mom and dad for years and years. And then one day, my dad had a massive heart attack, because of the life-style he was living. This really shook up my parents and God was merciful and let my dad live. Because of this happening in their lives, they really looked at their lives. My mom and dad both stopped drinking and smoking right away and changed their lives. My mom gave her life over to God and I saw a major transformation in both of their lives. I know it was only because of God and the power of prayer that changed my mom and dad. They both became strong Christians who did a lot in the church and their lives really did take a complete turn from where it was. God is powerful and can change the worse person into a much better person and can and is continuing to work in my life. Even if you haven't necessarily experienced God for yourself, there is undeniable proof around that he does exsist. There are people who have lived their whole lives trying to deny the exsistance of God only not to be able to. And then, they just have to admit that there is a higher force in this world. There are things we cannot explain. Only a God could do these things in the world. I encourage you to really honestly examine for yourself whether God exsists or not. Really take the time and do research and have an open mind to the possiblities. I know that you will come to the same conclusion that there are things in this world that can not be explained and there indeed is a God behind everything that is. So yeah. I will really pray for you. God is so good and so real to me. I really want you to know him the way I know him. And I know that he can do amazing things in your life if you let him.

Like LHW said, you have to expierence with god yourself. I believe this thread you started is non-sense. I like hearing other peoples expierences with god, but coming on to the board and saying god isnt real. Then when people like LHW, mAhUd, and shan try to tell you how he is real. You go in denial, and won't listen. I hope you find god soon, with your expierence with him to change your mind. The point is if you don't believe in god, sure you can go into a lively argument, but your coming onto the board saying "God isn't real" then after M@hu shared his experience, you said "God still isn't real".
I believe in god very deeply, I'd love to have a good argument about it, but not talking to someone in denial, and trying to find himself.

Aye, as do I! I mean, *nods head* yeah, we are like SO TOTALLY the result of an atom exploding in space. COME ON! What wise guy came up with that? One question? There is not one thing in this universe that can create itself, so how is it that this atom or whatever made itself? It didn't! Because GOD created it. The Bible says that "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Does it say "in the beginning an atom made itself and then set of the BIG BANG"? No... And it most certainly does not say that we evolved from apes. Yeah, our DNA, bone structure, and other things may be similar but you know what? Cucumbers and Zuccinnis look similar with some differences. But do you see or hear any scientists saying that our zuccinnis from our gardens are evolving into cucumbers? No... So forget the Big Bang and Darwinism theory. They are just some abstract ideas cooked up from some mad scientist who was taken for a genius. *wink* Hope you don't mind my atoms exploding and all... (we're made of atoms right?!)

Ok guys. I kinda let this go on a little too long.... but please, lets be loving and kind. I just really pray that avenger will really begin to examine why he feels the way he does and pray that God will really work in his heart. I know that God can work a miracle in his life, too, just like God has in mine. Lord, please work in avengers heart and draw him to you. Please open his eyes to your truth. In Jesus name, Amen.

I used to go to church . . . but not anymore, I am agnostic. I do not believe in god, yet, I have yet to flat out agree with his nonexistance.
I do hear of a lot of stories about experiencing God and having it change their life, but I find the stories no different than what happens when anybody merely finds the strength to believe in themselves.
Anyways, I find the end results of our lives to be unfair. What happens to people that have never been exposed to god, never heard of Jesus, and never seen to proof to believe in him.
Besides, religion itself is filled with hipocricy and tainted actions. During most of history having a spot for devoting yourself to religion was mostly a power struggle with the government. Plus, the countless lives lost from 'killing in the name of god.'
There are more complex reasons that I have decided more for myself, and the more scientifical view. This is just what I have came up with myself and why I don't believe in god.
