Paragon why are you trying to engage us into a debate? We are each responsible for working out our own relationship with God and if you don't want one, fine. But do not try to upset the children here. You promised M@ that you would not try to get us into another debate. Leave our children alone.
Aled please don't respond on this thread for a while. You don't need to get upset.

I'm not trying to start a debate!!! I just posted two sentences, in hopes that it would end the whole thing! When I say, "Some of us don't find these "signs" sufficient. Thats all." it means, "Some people think one thing, some people think another thing, lets just drop it now, mmmmmk?" You all told me to quit with the debate, so I was trying to help...

God is more compassionate that we usually give him credit for, ProSaxPlayer. And I don't believe he holds against us stuff which we have no control over. Who we are is to a very large extent shaped by the lives and circumstances around us, and this is true for everyone. what makes us the kind of people we are, whether we strive for what is good or pursue bad stuff, is very much out of our control. God knows that we are not perfect and he knows we are helpless to help ourselves much of the time, and he takes that into consideration. The thing we should not do is beat ourselves up over things we cannot change by our our strength. and we also need to distinguish between things that need to be changed from those we think need to be changed. Give your problems to God, and one way or another he will be with you and help you. He doesn't want to condemn, he wants to help. I'm sorry that you feel excluded from having a relationship with God. Many of us here have experienced the same or similar things. Even now I struggle to have a relationship with God, and there is much in my life that gets in the way. But slowly slowly God is helping me. Yeah, well, I can't believe in him when everyday people decide to hate me because of something I don't have control over... plenty of people hate me too. But God doesn't hate me. He doesn't hate you either.

Practically eveything you post is antagonistic. We are fed up with it.

Gah. I'm not trying to be antagonistic, I'm just frustrated that people keep misunderstanding me. Urg, I'm just gonna shut up before more people get mad at me. Sorry if I seem belligerent.

ProSaxPlayer, It's not God who is stopping you from having a relationship with Him. He knew you before you were conceived. He knew that you would be different. I am lesbian and none of the people who know me well ever question my salvation because my faith is such that they see the Lord at work in my life. The church has done many terrible things in the Name of the Father that they will be called to account for at the judgement day. If you want God to be your Father, just ask Him. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and wash you in the blood of Jesus so that you become whiter than snow. And then honestly seek Him. He WILL answer you. He does not reject anyone who asks. He loves you. God loves you Pro and He wants you to be His Child. He wants you to be one of the many princes in His Kingdom. Listen to what He has to say to you. Why do you think that you are at this board anyway? He brought you hear that He loves you. Won't you join our family of misfits? Just as the Father longs to adopt you into the Kingdom, so do we. . the family of misfits.

We can't understand you until we get to know you. The internet is like the 'real' world. you have to form relationships first. Then we can start to understand one another. So far we know nothing about you, except you have lots of opinions about stuff.

I do agree with M@ and GC. You are entitled to your opinions, but either way...God is real. It just depends on how real he is to you. All It takes is faith. All you have to do is have faith and believe and his is as real as you want him to be. Alot of people know that...and that gives them great comfort. I hope that made sense.

He doesn't hate you either. ProSaxPlayer, I don't hate you. I don't know you yet, but I can tell you that I don't hate you. And I don't judge you either. God loves you. And because of that, I want to love you, too. And Matty, I don't hate you either. And I know that once people get to know you, they won't hate you, because you have such a wonderful tender heart and are so caring and loving.

Geesh. I go away for one weekend to attend a couple conferences, and come back to find all this...well, garbage (replace "garbage" with a stronger word of your choice).
I'm tempted to go off on a rant, but seeing as how I just spent several hours typing up a recap of one of the above mentioned conferences, I think I'll pass. Well...maybe a little one...
9 pages of this stuff, huh? Amazing. What's "funny" is that a lot of the arguments are the same thing over and over and over again.
To be honest, though, I'm sorry to see anyone leave, and especially delete their account. No matter how altruistic people intend to be, or how offensive someone comes across as being, there's usually blame on both sides when a new person leaves this soon after joining. And it's a bloody shame when it happens on a Christian board.
If any comments I made lead up to folks leaving, then I publicly apologize for them. Too bad we all can't use hindsight as our primary method of seeing...it's usually 20/20.
